Let me tell you a little bit about myself…

I personally think one of the best ways to get to know a person is to identify their passions.  My personal passions are entertaining good friends; listening to good music, especially jazz and bluegrass; savoring good food, especially barbeque, golf when I can find a free afternoon, enjoying our animals, especially our birds, cats, and Mastiffs; and watching the sunset behind the Blue Ridge Mountains from our deck on an island in one of the world’s most beautiful in-land lakes, Lake Lure, North Carolina.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  When I was 19 years old I moved to the Florida Keys where I met my wife, Pauline.  Pauline and I moved to Bradford, Pennsylvania in the early 80’s and ran a successful restaurant and bar.  It was also during this time that we became foster parents and over the next eleven years 22 foster children stayed with us in our home.   Pauline and I both believe that with blessings comes a responsibility to give back, and these children gave us plenty of blessings.

We moved to North Carolina in the mid 90’s and settled in Lake Lure.  We began investing in rental properties in this area with Pauline as manager of the business and I provided the maintenance.  We started another restaurant and for the next five years built it into one of the most popular restaurants in the area which we sold in 2002.  Realizing my life long dream of building my own home was next, I took 2 years off to construct our new house on the top of an island overlooking the lake with an incredible view of the Hickory Nut Gorge.

All this experience led up to my current career in Real Estate.  I am a broker with Beverly-Hanks in Lake Lure.  I have combined my customer service experience from the restaurant industry, with my know-how in construction and knowledge of this area to help each person I work with realize their dreams.
